Another Homemade Facial Treatment : Green Tea

Before I resorted to Nizoral AD Shampoo, I experimented on the wonders of green tea. This is another homemade facial and hair treatment, but sad to say, it wasn’t that effective with me. It’s probably because I don’t drink that much in a day. I don’t like drinking tea as much as I like drinking coffee. But I tried and even until now, still trying to love green tea. Green tea is a good source of anti-oxidaants. Aside from drinking it, it can be applied topically to the face. Both ways can help reduce the inflammation or the redness of the face due to acnes. Green tea is another affordable homemade facial treatment. And oh, before I forget, green tea can also a remedy for dandruff.

Green tea is not only good for those who want to slim down. I believe that it can be an effective cure for pimples and even for dandruff. I tried to rub the used tea bag on my face and even tried to open the tea bag and made use of the moist leaves as a facial mask. After half an hour, the redness on my face reduced and I feel refreshed. Just make sure to wash your face with your usual facial wash after doing the facial mask. I also tried to boil the tea bag and instead of drinking the tea, I poured it over my head and let it stay for a while, like around 15 minutes. After that I shampooed and hair conditioned my hair. The itchiness on my scalp due to dandruff lessened but because my dandruff was on its severe stage, I opted to seek help from Nizoral.
This maybe another homemade facial and scalp treatment, but I believe this will work on everybody just as long as he or she learns to love drinking this type of tea. This will not also help in detoxifying our body, a warm cup of this drink would help us relax our mind and lessen stress. I would like to recommend this homemade facial and scalp treatment to everybody. =)

Dandruff: Causes and Remedies

I've been battling with this scalp problem since my high school days. Dandruff is really annoying. It does not only gives you an itchy scalp but it also decreases your self-confidence because of the white flakes that would often time be seen on your shoulders especially if you're wearing dark colored tops. Dandruff makes me uncomfortable and sometimes, miserable.

What causes dandruff? Dandruff is actually normal. Dandruff or also known as scurf, is the shedding of dead skin on the scalp. Excessive flaking of the scalp and itchiness would be a reason for anyone to consult a physician or better yet, try some remedies to treat it. According to this website, dandruff can be the result of overactive oil glands, food allergies, STRESS, excessive perspiration or harsh shampoos. That's why before trying on some remedies, one should identify first what really is the cause of his or her itchy scalp.

I can't remember since when have I been searching for the perfect remedy for my scalp problem. I even tried this Kraft Miracle Whip Hair Treatment. This KMW hair treatment worked for only a short period. My dandruff problem returned again. I've tried a lot of dandruff home remedies. But there's only one anti-dandruff shampoo that works for me eversince I can't remember. The only one thing that holds me back from buying this shampoo is it's PRICE. Yes. It's way too expensive. But this past few weeks, I'm starting to lose my self-confidence. Dandruff flakes all over my shoulders makes me want to hide inside my bag. It's too embarrasing. Really. I have no other choice but to slash off a small portion of my savings and bought this expensive Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. And after two shampoo sessions, I now feel like my scalp is starting to breathe fresh air! Haha! :) And oh by the way, when using Nizoral Maximum Treatment, it's too strong for the scalp and the hair as well, so it's not advisable to use it daily. Twice a week can already help diminish those fungi and other bacterias that helps on cultivating dandruff flakes.

I realized lately that dandruff is also a pain in the pocket. It will cost you so much if your skin is too sensitive. There a lot of shampoos for dandruff, but not all are good in treating this scalp problem. That's why one should always be careful in choosing the right shampoo. One should also watch his or her diet because wrong food intake can aggravate dandruff. And when feeling so stressed, then maybe it's time to unwind and relax :) Give your body a rest because it's the temple of your soul. >Ü<

Tomatoes for Pimples :)

Yep. You've read it right. Tomatoes are really good for soothing painful acne. That was weeks ago when I started searching for natural and practical ways of getting rid of my facial outbreaks, I stumbled upon the Kraft Miracle Whip Facial and also was able to read from some other sites (sorry, I forgot what sites I have stumbled upon) that potatoes and tomatoes are one of those practical cure.

I've tried potato poultice and it was good, but find it time consuming to scrape. So I decided to be loyal with tomatoes since I only have to slice them and place them on my pimples. It feels good everytime this tomatoes touch my face, it soothes my inflamed acne and the next day after, my acne starts to disappear.

pimple face
So why is tomatoes? How can it help in treating pimples? Pimples or acne are caused by different factors, but one factor which is common to all is the BACTERIA in the pores. Some of the factors can be found here. So in order to take away this bad bacteria, we need to wash it away, but sometimes, facial wash is not enough. So here comes the tomato, which is very rich with antioxidants. Tomato can help in the quick recovery of these disturbing facial outbreaks.

So what are you waiting for? Go grab a tomato and slice it then rub it or just place it over your swelling pimples for a few minutes. And don't forget to wash it with tap water after :)

On Waking Up Early

Lately, I've been trying so hard to get up early. Yes. Early, as in 5:30 A.M. But my body refuses to :( I know I can do more if I wake up early, I can be more productive and energetic because there would be times that too much sleep makes me more lazy to move.

Earlier, I've googled on how to wake up early. And I landed on this page, which also led me to read this and this. I really agree with what the author said that sleeping early is never the solution to the problem. I myself have experienced sleeping late but then managed to wake up early and still feel energized and refreshed.

I will try the technique that the author suggested. Practice makes perfect. And early risers are also made, not born ;)

Any other suggestions on how to wake up early? I'll be making a follow up post on this after trying the technique. :)

Ciao!

Homemade facial and hair treatment

I’ve been searching over the web for a homemade facial treatment and found this Kraft Miracle Whip (KMW) facial treatment here and here. Lately, I’ve been suffering a lot of break outs, and I also tried availing a collagen facial in one of the well-known facial spa in the city but nothing changed, it even worsen the case. So what I did is go back to my normal facial wash and let it be.

Out of curiosity, I tried this Miracle Whip facial after finding some positive feedbacks from those who have tried it. And yes, it’s effective! I’ve tried the facial for two days already and my face feels soft and moisturized without even applying moisturizer. And I no longer suffer oily skin after the facial treatment.

In between the search for positive feedbacks from those who have tried this homemade facial, I also have learned that Kraft Miracle Whip can also be a good hair treatment most especially to those have dry hair. The second time I applied KMW to my face, I also applied it to my scalp and hair. After thirty minutes of leaving it on my head, I washed it twice with a shampoo and never used a conditioner after to really prove if it can indeed turn my dry hair into a shiny and healthy hair. And yes, after my hair dried, it feels soft and even my dandruff were gone. Yes… I’ve been suffering from dandruff eversince time immemorial. I tried a lot of dandruff shampoos even the expensive Nizoral, but everytime I stop using this over-the-counter drug, these unwelcoming white flakes keep on coming back. Well, not now. I’m dandruff free and will be pimple free after a few more KMW facial. ;)

I encourage every ladies to try this homemade facial and hair treatment because it’s not only affordable (super duper affordable), it’s also guaranteed effective. Here’s the instruction for the facial (for the hair treatment, just follow what I said earlier):

Use a shower cup or tie your hair so that it will never mess with the mayo on your face. Apply a medium coating of Kraft Miracle Whip on your face, spread it so that it will fairly cover your face but avoid the area near your eyes. You can also cover your lips if you want to have a soft kissable lips. Then leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Your face will feel hot, it’s because of the vinegar component of the Miracle Whip which I think also acts as the exfoliator. The burning sensation that you will feel is normal. But if you can’t stand it, better yet wash your face. After 15 minutes, massage your face gently after which you can see mini balls which consist of your dead skin cells and the excess Miracle Whip which was not absorbed by your skin. Rinse your face with water then you may continue with your usual facial regime. But I never used toner after it because the toner only made my face oily. So I leave it as it is after washing with my favorite facial wash.

So what are you waiting for? Try it now!

By the way, thank you so much to Christina for posting about it and also to HealthRecipes.com for a very informative post.

another set of weight loss tips

  1. Forgive yourself so that you can start your diet program without any doubts and hesitations. Sometimes we all need to let go, move on and forgive ourselves to free some space in our hearts and to focus on a new endeavor and that is losing the flabs.
  2. Never start on an expensive weight loss program not unless you're so determined to succeed.
  3. Discipline is always the most important word to succeed in a weight loss program.
  4. Take one day at a time. Losing weight is a process. There are no shortcuts.
  5. Always reward yourself. Having a cheat day once every week or every two weeks would be a good motivational tool to succeed.

Sometimes, all we need to do is to forgive and love ourselves so that there would be no distractions during the weight loss programs. There are times that we fail in the middle of the program and eating more is our way of coping from the failure. This causes us to gain rather than lose weight.

There is no need to spend on an expensive weight loss program. As what I’ve said in my earlier post, the problem is not the weight loss program, but it’s you. Discipline and reward are important in the process. These two keep us motivated and these two serves as our light which would lead us to our goal of getting rid of our flab. During the weight loss program, we should focus on the moment, not on the destination. We should enjoy and learn from the process and refrain from thinking more about the future.

A thought to ponder:

Journey’s what brings us happiness, not the destination. - Peaceful Warrior

perfect weight loss program

Since I started another weight loss program, I was so positive that I'll get back on track on my goal of losing my excessive fats. But when depression came in and add up the hectic work schedule and pending reports, I got lost again for the nth time! But I still pursue and splurge a lot on this new weight loss program, hoping to find a miracle.

But one day, I was awakened by this tiny voice, that the problem is not with the new weight loss program, but with me! Yes! The problem is with me. I don't have discipline to control my food intake. I allowed myself to be defeated by depression. Tsk tsk.

Now, I conclude that there is no such thing as a perfect weight loss program or diet or whatever it is. Discipline should always come first in everything, the rest will just follow. Yep. I believe that I will reap what I will sow. And I need to start practicing discipline NOW.

I just realized...

That I was fooled by Abe's April Fools Day post. Hehehe. I was actually hoping the other night that I would be one of the winners. Boohoo. Nabiktima lng pala ako. :) Nice Abe! You got me! Hahaha :)

I'm now back to my old work, and I just realized that I need to exert more effort in everything that I do. I must always give my best shot and not to be easily discouraged by depression. AND I REALLY MUST FIND A WAY TO FIGHT PROCRASTINATION.

stress, procrastination, frustrations & disappointments

Lately, I seemed to be lost and absent-minded. I seemed to have lost my motivation in everything that I do. I seemed to have lost motivation on all my goals. I really want to lose weight. I want to be responsible and more dedicated in my work. I don't want to procrastinate. But I've seemed to be losing the battle :(

Lately, I've been in denial. I always say I'm okay. But deep down inside I'm not. Frustrations and disappointments are eating out my motivation to work harder on all my new year's resolution. Why does it seem so hard to change? I am too lazy to change, but I am no longer happy with what's happening to my life lately. This is not good. This is not me.

Maybe I'm just stressed. Who would not be? There are a lot of things which keeps on bugging me. The newly discovered health problem. The really tight budget. The mismanaged weight. The backlogs and messy office table. All negatives :( Where are the positives?

I want to start all over again with my weight loss goal. I want to be more dedicated and responsible both in school and work. I want to be organized (and I badly need help on this one!). I want to reconnect my spiritual being with God. I REALLY THINK this could help me. And I also think that I need to have a one day break to sort out everything. When can I have that break?

Can someone help me out please?

My ColorGenics Profile

Got the link from Nang Tina's blog. So out of boredom, I tried to visit the link and also tried to generate my own ColorGenics profile.  Here it goes:

Name: jireh
Date: 2/10/2009
Colorgenics Number: 54710236

See yourself as others see you...

You are in a state of constant expectation and want interesting and exciting things to happen to you. But in fact, you are a 'Walter Mitty' at times - a dreamer - over-imaginative and often given to fantasy or day-dreaming. There is nothing wrong in 'dreaming' - how boring life would be if one just followed the doctrines of everyday life - but one must not continue leading a life of continuous fantasy. You need to face reality in spite of all its possible shortcomings.

You are in need of rest, some peace and quiet. You feel the need to be close to that someone special, that someone who can give you that special consideration and unquestioning affection that you seek. If you don't find that 'special someone' and resolve your problems very soon, you are liable to become extremely introverted and cut yourself off from society.

You feel truly deprived - not getting your fair share, but you have accepted the fact that that is the way things are at this time and that it is prudent to let matters slide and not hit your head against the wall -so conform and agree for a while. Accept the situation - nothing can last forever.

The tension that you are experiencing at this time is perhaps due to physical and/or mental frustration. It would appear that you are not appreciated and as a consequence, the situation is most disagreeable. You seek personal recognition and the appreciation of others to compensate for the lack of like minded people with whom to ally yourself. You would like to surrender and merge with others but your inherent self-restraint makes it difficult for you to open up. This disturbs you as you regard such instincts as weaknesses to be overcome. You want to be liked, admired and appreciated for yourself.

You are greatly impressed by individuality and have interest in people who have outstanding qualities. You try to imitate those people that you admire and their characteristics, hoping that you will be able to display similar qualities in your own personality.

Weight Loss Tips

I'm kind of bored as of the moment. Bored. Sad. Oh. I just miss my family back home. To make me forget about it a bit, I just would like to share some of my weight loss secret.

  1. Drink at least three (3) liters of water a day. Flush all that toxins in your body ;) Water therapy is indeed effective!
  2. Try to avoid eating in between meals. But if you can't, eat only a small amount of whatever it is you would like to eat or better yet, just eat fresh fruits like apple, mango, banana or orange.
  3. Take food supplements. :)
  4. Slowly let go of softdrinks and junk foods.
  5. Take time to rest in a week. Relax.
  6. Get enough sleep.
  7. Move. move. move.
  8. Exercise at least two to three times in a week.
  9. Stay positive.
  10. SELF DISCIPLINE :)

6 pounds lighter :)

Yep. My blog title says it all. I'm very happy with my weight loss program. :) Thanks to my weight loss coach and their wonderful product. :) I started with my program last week, January 13, 2009. Before I started, I recorded my body measurement and body weight as well. I used to weigh 143 lbs. last week, and now, I'm only 137 lbs. My waist trimmed down from 35 inches to 33 inches, my arms from 12.5 inches to 12 inches, my hips from 39 to 38 and my thighs from 25 to 22 inches. In just a week, I managed to lose that much weight which I used to think is so impossible. What makes me more happy is that I now have a normal bowel movement. :)

I will reveal my weight loss program next blog post after signing up a membership for this company. I'm soooooooo happy :)

New Year, New Life

This might be a late post for welcoming 2009, but I would still like to post my goals for this year of the Ox.

  1. lose weight. yeah. LOSE weight. currently weighing 143 lbs., aiming to be 100 lbs or lighter by June 2009 :)
  2. be organized. update to do list everyday.
  3. spend less, save more or shall i say, INVEST more. returns on savings is so small that it would take like forever to see the returns though it is the safest, but i still believe that money is not my property, i need to let it go in order for it to FREELY FLOW in my life ;)
  4. fight procrastination. **wish me luck**
  5. hear Mass every Sunday.
  6. spend time alone once a week.
  7. take time to relax at least twice a month.
  8. read the Twilight series. yep :) read more books, watch less TV.
  9. watch movie more often.
  10. do more charity works.
That's all for now :) I welcome 2009 with a big hug. New life, new hope, better ME :)
